On September 24th, during the 80th United Nations General Assembly week, AI Safety Connect and the MILA Quebec AI Institute convened an intimate gathering of distinguished decision-makers for a comprehensive briefing on the International AI Safety Report, the world's first comprehensive synthesis of current literature on the capabilities and risks of advanced AI systems.
Key contributors Benjamin Prud'Homme, Catherine Régis, Daniel Privitera, and Stephen Clare engaged attendees in authoritative discussion of the report's key points and an overview of technical findings.
The event brought together high-level civil servants, representatives from leading international organizations, academic researchers, policy scholars, and technology industry leaders, creating a unique forum for those who can directly benefit from and act upon the report's findings.
The evening cultivated dialogue on implementing the report's recommendations, participatory feedback for the future editions of the report, and enabled critical connections among stakeholders positioned to advance AI safety at the highest levels of global governance, frontier labs, and civil society.
